The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, advantages administration, performance management, policy administration, compliance, payroll support, and HR reporting. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers while ensuring HR practices align with organizational goals and employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and job offers.
- Facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems (HRIS).
- Administer employee benefits, leaves of absence, and pension programs.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and workplace issues.
- Support performance management, employee development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, occupational health and safety legislation, and company policies.
- Support payroll by maintaining employee records, processing HR changes, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and workforce analytics.
- Coordinate employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and retention initiatives.
- Assist with policy development, implementation, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in HR projects and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or working toward certification is considered an asset.
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Experience using HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.




- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
