Apprentice Plumber – 2nd or 3rd Year

Overview

Mainland Services and Sales is seeking motivated, hardworking, and experienced 2nd- and 3rd-year apprentice plumbers to join our team.

You will work alongside experienced plumbers and mechanics on a variety of plumbing projects throughout the Calgary area. We are looking for dependable individuals who are eager to learn, strengthen their skills, and grow with our company. Applicants with previous plumbing experience are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist licensed plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to plumbing installations
- Safely and effectively operate hand tools and power tools
- Assemble and install plumbing components on construction projects
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on existing plumbing systems
- Assist with the installation of water heaters, sinks, toilets, showers, and other plumbing fixtures
- Install cast iron, System 15 PVC, ABS, steel, copper, and PEX piping according to project requirements
- Develop knowledge of carpentry and HVAC systems as they relate to plumbing installations




- Follow company and job-site safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and in good working condition
- Dispose of waste and construction materials appropriately
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard

Requirements
- Currently registered as a 2nd- or 3rd-year plumbing apprentice
- Previous plumbing or construction experience
- Solid mechanical aptitude and an understanding of plumbing systems
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Basic math skills for measurements and plumbing-related calculations
- Willingness to learn welding techniques when required for specific projects
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
- Dependable, organized, and willing to learn
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between job sites
