Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team! The Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of full-service and limited-service hotels, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records. This position manages and supports key accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, daily revenue reconciliation, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, payroll support, and month-end closing.

The Accountant works closely with the Chief Financial Officer/Controller and hotel department leaders to ensure revenues and expenses are accurately recorded, financial controls are followed, and reporting deadlines are met. The role also assists with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, audits, and the preparation of monthly financial reports.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and analytical skills. A solid understanding of full-service hotel operations, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banquets, and other revenue-generating departments, is considered a strong asset. The candidate requires knowledge of ACCPAC and Excel.

Duties

- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
- Complete month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.




- Reconcile bank accounts and balance-sheet accounts.
- Maintain supporting documentation and accounting records.
- Review and reconcile hotel revenues from rooms, food & beverage, banquets, parking, and other outlets.
- Verify revenue reports against the PMS and POS systems.
- Review cash, credit-card, direct-bill, and other payment transactions.
- Investigate revenue discrepancies and ensure corrections are completed.
- Assist with payroll processing and reconciliation.
- Review payroll-related accounts, benefits, and deductions as required.
- Maintain appropriate internal financial controls.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Analyze financial results and identify unusual trends or variances.
- Provide financial information to the Director of Finance/Controller and hotel leadership.

Skills

- Proficiency in ACCPAC accounting software platform or similar.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, account reconciliation techniques, and data entry accuracy.
- Knowledge of payroll processing systems to ensure precise wage calculations.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and budgeting tasks with precision.
- Excellent math skills combined with analytical thinking to interpret financial data effectively.
- Familiarity with financial services industry standards and compliance requirements.

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
