The Mount Continuing Care Community is a trusted provider of continuing care accommodations in Charlottetown, PE, offering independent living, community care, nursing care, and respite care in a welcoming, resident-centred environment. We are expanding to Cornwall, PE with our new facility now under development.
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and highly organized Administrator to oversee operations of this new facility. The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced team at our Charlottetown location until the current facility opens in 2029.
The Administrator assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the operations of their assigned facility. With a collaborative mindset, they coordinate, develop, and evaluate programs and policy initiatives to ensure effective resident care and management of staff. They are comfortable acting as the primary spokesperson, providing vision and direction in support of the facility’s growth and reputation.

Desired educational background & work experience OR relevant transferrable skills:
- Knowledge of healthcare and medical environments
- Working knowledge of long-term care or community care standards and regulations
- Demonstrated managerial experience including but not limited to, leadership, annual operational planning, budget management, and human resources
- University graduate with minimum five years of management experience
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Policy implementation and compliance, including document control, storage and retention.
- Education of staff, residents, and community about the programs and services offered, and the organization's goals and objectives.
- Recruitment, hiring, and performance management of employees alongside department supervisors, leads, and senior leaders.
- Oversee procurement planning and ordering of facility supplies, medication, and equipment.
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and capital planning to ensure fiscal sustainability.
- Cultivate relationships with governing boards, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Participate in all admissions decisions and consults with residents and families through the resident care planning process.
- Facilitate meetings to discuss a resident’s status, department personnel, and any resident concerns or, and other operational aspects as seen necessary.
- Lead emergency preparedness planning and organizational resilience strategies.
- Represent the facility in public forums, professional associations, and community partnerships.
- Respond to and adequately resolves incidents, complaints, or concerns from residents, families, staff or visitors.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Good physical and mental health to meet the high demands of the position
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Vaccination and inoculation required
- Must be available to report to the facility in the event of an emergency situation
- Some travel may be required
Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
