Job Details
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Admixture Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. This unique position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and highly specialized workplace, providing critical support to our oncology team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the preparation, handling, and dispensing of cancer and hazardous drugs, contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of hazardous drugs, with a particular focus on cancer medications.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe handling of hazardous drugs.
- Collaborating with the oncology team to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of drug preparation and dispensing activities.
- Providing consultation and advice to healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of medications.
- Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance programs.
- Participating in continuing education and professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in pharmacy practice.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in an oncology or hospital setting.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the preparation and dispensing of hazardous drugs, particularly cancer medications.
- A current Pharmacy Technician certification.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- A strong understanding of and commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems and technology.
