This role sits within Laurentian Bank Securities.
Under the responsibility of the Senior Manager, Compliance Programs and Risk Management, this person will contribute to maintaining a healthy and effective operational risk management structure and to overall compliance to internal policies and standards issued by Laurentian Bank.
Responsibilities
- Support the business in implementing operational risk management methodologies (risk events, risk assessment, key risk indicators, scenario analysis).
- Build solid, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and partners by addressing issues and concerns in a timely manner and providing on-going advisory services.
- Follow and monitor operational risk incidents and risk appetite.
- Support the business in analysing root causes of operational risk events and issues and ensure corrective action plans are developed and implemented.
- Ensure internal risk events are logged in a timely manner.
- Evaluate and recommend new controls where gaps have been identified.
- Work with business units to develop key risk indicators.
- Report to management and appropriate committees LBS operational risk profile, major issues and trends.
- Provide oversight and reporting on the effectiveness of the business continuity program, information security and supplier risk management.
- Collaborate with project managers & project sponsors by conducting risk assessment of significant initiatives.
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of operational risks, internal auditing and/or internal control frameworks (COSO, ISO 31000)
- Knowledge /Experience of investment products
