AI Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension/Conversion Possible)

Overview

Our financial services client is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to support a new enterprise AI initiative focused on developing intelligent solutions for internal users. This role will design, build, and deploy production-ready AI and machine learning solutions, collaborating closely with engineering, data, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative applications.

Responsibilities

Design and develop end-to-end AI/ML pipelines from data preparation through production deployment

Build and deploy LLM-powered applications using up-to-date AI frameworks

Develop scalable APIs and microservices to serve AI models

Implement MLOps practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, and model lifecycle management

Work with structured and unstructured data to build production-ready solutions

Collaborate with data engineering, cloud, DevOps, and product teams

Evaluate emerging AI technologies and prototype innovative solutions

Document technical designs and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders

Required Qualifications





10+ years of software engineering, AI, or machine learning experience

Strong Python programming skills, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow

Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, or deep learning

Strong knowledge of MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes

Experience deploying AI solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP

Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

Banking or financial services experience

Previous experience working within large financial institutions

Agile delivery experience
