We are seeking experienced Auger Boring Machine Operators to join our crews working on pipeline and utility installation projects throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate auger boring machines (ABMs) to install steel casing for underground utility crossings (gas, water, sewer, electrical, and fibre).
- Set up and prepare launch/reception pits, including proper shoring and trench protection.
- Install and remove auger flighting and cutting heads; monitor jacking pressure, rotation, alignment, and grade.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, bore profiles, and specifications to maintain line and grade.
- Coordinate with crew members (welders, labourers, and supervisors) to complete installations efficiently and safely.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report issues promptly.
- Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures, including confined-space, trench safety, and ground-disturbance protocols.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Travel to and work on project sites across Manitoba,



Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Proven experience operating auger boring / jack-and-bore equipment (preferably American Augers, Barbco, or similar machines).
- Strong knowledge of steel casing installation and trenchless construction methods.
- Ability to read construction plans, bore profiles, and utility maps.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record (Class 1 / CDL with air brakes preferred).
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and in excavated pits.
- Physically capable of the demands of the role (lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces, etc.).
- Willingness to travel extensively and work overtime, including nights or weekends when project schedules require.
- Commitment to safety and a strong safety record.

Preferred assets

- Welding experience or certification.
- Experience with line-and-grade systems / piloting systems.
- Trench safety, confined-space, or ground-disturbance certifications.
- Previous experience on Canadian pipeline or utility projects.
