Our Team is growing! We are looking for an Automation Team Lead!

The Automation Team Lead is primarily responsible for leading and coordinating the automation team members in the assembly, integration, and testing of custom automated equipment. They manage the entire life cycle of the project, identify priorities, ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and collaborate with the program manager to coordinate schedules with the customer.

Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor and support the Automation Team Members
- Manage and coordinate the team’s daily responsibilities to ensure that projects are completed according to the schedule
- Work collaboratively with the program manager, engineering, CNC, toolroom, fabrication, quality, shipping and other departments to complete projects and resolve technical challenges
- Review drawings, BOMs, and project documentation prior to the project’s commencement
- Ensure team members have the required knowledge, skills and safety training to complete the projects through on-going feedback and performance reports
- Communicate daily progress reports, material requirements and project issues to internal departments
- Support recruitment and onboarding of additional team members
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for complex electrical assemblies,



automation components and control systems
- Ensure equipment is built in compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements and applicable standards for PLC-controlled machinery and industrial controls
- Provide hands-on support for mechanical assembly, pneumatic systems and machine integration
- Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes, workflow, tooling and standard procedures
- Assist in developing standardized procedures and best practices
- Travel will occasionally be required to customer sites, tradeshows and other industry events, therefor all travel documents (licence, passport, etc.) must remain current
- Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Prior experience as Team Lead or Supervisor in a manufacturing workplace
- Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Millwright, Mechatronics or related trade
- 5+ years of experience building custom automation equipment or manufacturing equipment
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC programming and industrial automation systems
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T;, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, BOMs, and 3D CAD models
- Solid organizational and communication skills, especially in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and handle frequent interruptions on a regular basis
- Experience with problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability




- Able to proactively identify issues, analyze data and implement effective solutions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T;
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer installations and service support to Mexico, USA, Europe, and other countries as needed
