Job Summary

Z’gamok Construction LP (ZCLP), a subsidiary of Z’gamok Enterprises Inc., an Indigenous business fully owned by Sagamok Anishnawbek, provides a diverse range of services across multiple business segments, including construction, haulage, sand and gravel supply, and surface mining services.

Z’gamok Construction LP (ZCLP) is recruiting a hard-working individual with strong technical skills, professionalism and safe driving habits to fill the position of AZ Driver.

The AZ Driver is responsible for completing short-haul deliveries while safely operating triaxle dump trucks, triaxle trucks with pup trailers, and float trailers. Duties include transporting a variety of materials and equipment, such as waste rock, sand, aggregates, and heavy machinery. This position requires excellent driving skills, the ability to operate multiple types of commercial vehicles and equipment, and a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan and follow assigned routes while adapting to traffic, weather, road closures, and changing job site conditions.
- Safely secure all loads, materials, and equipment before transport.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations, commercial vehicle safety requirements, and company safety standards.
- Maintain regular communication with operations manager and site personnel regarding delivery schedules, delays, and operational issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, including both the interior and exterior.




- Conduct mandatory daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and required documentation in compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Verify load materials and ensure weights comply with legal and operational requirements.
- Follow instructions effectively and communicate clearly with supervisors, dispatch, and team members.
- Report vehicle defects, incidents, near misses, accidents, and unsafe conditions immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
- Refuel vehicles and monitor fluid levels to ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, required training, and ongoing professional development.
- Wear and maintain the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Complete daily paperwork accurately, including timesheets, job hours, and hazard assessments.
- Represent Z'gamok Construction LP in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers, contractors, suppliers, and the public.
- Comply with all Z'gamok Construction LP policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Perform work at residential, commercial, construction, mining,



and other designated job sites as required.
- Assist with other operational duties and provide support to other crews or departments as required.

Qualifications

- Valid Ontario Class AZ Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driving record.
- Clean Driver's Abstract (must be provided upon request).
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial AZ driving experience, preferably in construction, aggregate hauling, or a related industry.
- Knowledge of applicable Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations and commercial vehicle legislation.
- Ability to operate triaxle dump trucks, pup trailers, and float trailers safely and efficiently.
- Experience conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Basic mathematical and measurement skills for verifying loads and weights.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent observation skills with robust attention to detail.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and at residential, commercial, construction, and mining sites.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including climbing in and out of vehicles, and securing loads

Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
