- Maintaining complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards, as well as maintenance and use of equipment.
- Anticipating guests’ needs; acknowledging and responding promptly to all guest requests.
- Setting up tables for each event as stated in Banquet Event Order.
- Serving plated meals.
- Replenishing buffet items to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Monitoring tableware to ensure it is polished and presentable.
- Clearing food and drinks from tables.
- Cleaning up after events.
- Bartending efficiently and accurately to large groups.
- Maintaining complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces; communicating allergies and dietary restrictions to the Banquet management team.
- Performing all other duties, as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be able to perform job functions with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow directions thoroughly.
- Must be a transparent thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
- Must be highly motivated and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and work cohesively with co-workers as part of a dynamic team.
- Must display excellent attention to detail and has a proven ability to work under minimal supervision during high volume situations.
- Serving It Right certification.
- Food Safe Level 1 considered an asset.
- Ability to lift trays that may weigh up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds).
- Previous food service experience required.
- Knowledge of function preparation and room set-ups considered a strong asset
- Must be available to work more than 20 hours/week; flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.58-$26.11 per hour
