The Opportunity

Join the dynamic team at Toronto Metropolitan University’s bustling Starbucks location in the Student Learning Centre. As a Barista (Customer Service Assistant), you’ll bring your Starbucks experience and passion for customer service to a fast-paced, high-energy environment serving students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

You will be responsible for:

- Taking and preparing quality beverage and food orders according to Starbucks standards
- Delivering exceptional customer service to every guest
- Monitoring stock levels and replenishing products as needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

- Starbucks experience required – minimum 6 months as a Barista preferred
- Secondary school diploma (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of food service procedures, preparation, and production
- Knowledge of WHMIS, food safety, and physical safety protocols
- Assets:



Toronto Public Health Food Handlers Certification & Smart Serve Ontario Certification
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, including tact and diplomacy
- Comfortable working in a full-service hospitality setting with heat, fumes, odours, and noise, as well as the potential for cuts and burns if safety procedures are not followed
