Barista/Tea Specialist (Permanent Part-Time)

Tao Tea Leaf is a specialty tea company based in Toronto, focused on thoughtfully sourced loose leaf teas and carefully prepared tea-based beverages.

We're hiring Permanent Part-Time Tea Specialists for our Union Station location. This role prepares tea-based beverages, guides customers through loose leaf selections, and keeps service moving during busy commuter periods.

Compensation: $17.60/hour (Ontario general minimum wage)

Responsibilities:

- Prepare tea-based beverages according to company standards and recipes
- Guide customers through tea and drink selections
- Take orders accurately, including customizations (milk, sweetness, ice, etc.)
- Process payments and handle transactions responsibly
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels in the service area
- Assist with inventory, restocking, and online order preparation
- Communicate customer feedback and operational issues to management

Ideal Candidate:

- Prior retail or hospitality experience (tea, coffee, or beverage experience is a strong asset)




- Genuine interest in tea, food & beverage, or specialty retail
- Reliable and punctual, comfortable with early mornings and commuter traffic
- Learns quickly and follows procedures consistently
- Works well independently and as part of a small team

Availability:

- 2–4 shifts per week
- This role requires availability for weekday morning shifts and weekday evening rush hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM, with some weekends from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Please only apply if this schedule genuinely works for you.
