Station Road is looking for a Before/After School Program Teacher August 31st, 2026-June 30th, 2027

In This Role You Will:
- Provide daily care for children on a split-shift basis; additional hours at our Main Centre may be available.
- Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the before and after school program.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Monitor classroom programs to ensure all learning opportunities are open-ended and child-directed.
- Prepare and serve daily snacks.
- Maintain daily records of children's attendance, injuries, and activities, and document in the communication log throughout the morning and afternoon programs.
- Organize and replenish classroom materials.
- Develop a weekly emergent program plan that meets the physical, intellectual, cognitive, and emotional needs of each child, based on their interests and skills. This plan must be linked to the early learning document “How Does Learning Happen,” signed by the supervisor, and posted visibly for parents, families, and staff.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed and maintain the confidentiality of all personal information related to Station Road and its families.
- Report any concerns about a child, family, or situation to the supervisor.
- Treat all children, families, caregivers, staff members, and school community members with dignity and respect.
- Supervise each child in the room at all times, ensuring their safety and awareness.
- Always be able to account for the children in your care, knowing the exact number at all times to ensure complete safety.
- Attend all Station Road staff meetings.
- Encourage children to actively participate in keeping the classroom tidy and clean, and report any safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Establish positive daily communication with parents and caregivers, greeting each child upon arrival and departure.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with young children;
- Registered Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree; Preferred
- Up to date Vulnerable Sector Check
- Has up to date certification in Standard First Aid and CPR/AED level C
- Immunization Records
- Able to work alone or with another staff
- Well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with parents, staff, and school board members;
- Excellent written communication skills;
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort; lifting up to 20 kg (44lbs.), bending and stooping, pushing, carrying and pulling;
- Must be able to work outdoors
- Must be able to work a split shift (6:50am-9:15am and 2:55pm - 6pm)
- Only those individuals legally entitled to work in Canada will be considered.
Job Type: Fixed term contract Pay: $25.00-$26.08 per hour
