Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

About the Role

Black Professional Canada is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Black

Community Service Support Representative to join our team on a temporary four-month contract. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting

Black individuals and communities while collaborating with government agencies and community partners.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and justice-sector partners, including individuals involved in the criminal justice system, to facilitate access to services, resources, and community reintegration support.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct support and advocacy services to Black community members.

Build and maintain productive relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and service providers.

Assist clients in accessing housing, employment, education, health, and social services.

Support individuals with reintegration and community engagement initiatives.

Conduct outreach activities and attend community events as required.

Prepare reports, maintain case notes, and document service delivery activities.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development.

Travel within the region as required, sometimes on short notice.

Qualifications

 Minimum 2 years of experience working in community services, social services,

corrections, rehabilitation, reintegration programs, or a related field.

 Experience working with offenders, justice-involved individuals, or vulnerable populations is required.





 Experience collaborating with government agencies and community organizations.

 Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

 Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.

 Excellent organizational and case management skills.

 Knowledge of community resources and support systems available to Black communities.

 Demonstrated cultural competency and understanding of the unique challenges facing Black individuals and families.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Ability and willingness to travel on short notice.

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Successful completion of any required background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Social Work, Criminology, Sociology, Community Development,

Human Services, or a related field.

Experience supporting individuals transitioning from correctional facilities to community living.

Knowledge of trauma-informed, anti-racist, and culturally responsive practices.
