Role Description The Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast items to hotel standards, ensuring that all dishes are served on time and presented consistently. This full-time, on-site role in Stratford, ON includes setting up and maintaining the breakfast buffet, monitoring food quality and freshness, and following food safety and sanitation procedures. Day-to-day tasks involve prepping ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, managing cooking times, and restocking items during service.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in breakfast or short-order cooking, ideally in a hotel, restaurant, or similar food service environment.

Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices, including safe handling, storage, and preparation of food.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, manage multiple orders at once, and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.

Reliable time management skills with the ability to start early shifts, follow schedules, and support consistent breakfast service hours.

Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen, serving, and front desk staff in a professional manner.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry supplies, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks safely.

Basic understanding of inventory and portion control;

experience minimizing waste and managing stock is an asset.
