About The Role The Business Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of Product Innovation within the Specialty Health business unit at McKesson Canada. This pivotal role involves contributing to a high-impact product innovation team focused on transforming healthcare delivery through digital solutions.
The Business
Analyst will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and technology teams to develop and implement innovative platforms that enhance patient support programs, optimize specialty pharmacy operations, and support large-scale digital transformation initiatives. This position is essential for executing high-quality, creative patient services aligned with the strategic goals of the Specialty Health division.
Responsibilities include supporting data migration strategies, planning, organizing, and overseeing activities related to current and future applications. The role requires a proactive approach to translating business needs into technical requirements, ensuring seamless communication across teams, and delivering solutions that improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, regulated environment, ensuring compliance with privacy and security standards while driving continuous improvement.
They will engage with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of product roadmaps and support the ongoing evolution of McKesson’s healthcare solutions.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Healthcare Administration, or Information Technology. A business analysis-related certification is preferred, demonstrating a solid understanding of industry best practices. Candidates should have at least three years of direct experience in business analysis, with a preference for those with five or more years in technology-related roles within healthcare or biopharma environments.
Experience working within the biopharma industry, particularly with patient support programs, is highly valued. Proficiency with the Salesforce platform, supporting digital product launches, and system migrations is advantageous. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, familiarity with agile and Scrum methodologies, and a comprehensive understanding of product development lifecycles.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities Serve as a domain expert and advocate for both customers and internal stakeholders, supporting the product team in delivering superior digital experiences, particularly in patient support programs.
Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and technology teams to gather, document, and translate business requirements into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
Analyze current business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and strategic alignment.
Support the product backlog by refining and prioritizing features based on business value, stakeholder input, and customer insights; facilitate smooth development workflows.
Lead and participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups,
and retrospectives to ensure project momentum and team alignment.
Conduct gap analyses and impact assessments for proposed changes or new features, and assist in defining and tracking KPIs to measure product success.
Ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions throughout the product lifecycle, validating that developed features meet specified requirements.
Maintain comprehensive documentation and ensure traceability of requirements; support change management and user training efforts for new solutions.
Use qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform product decisions, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies.
Promote continuous operational improvements and foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment aligned with McKesson’s "LeadRx" culture.
