About The Role The Business Analyst at McKesson plays a pivotal role in our AI Workflow Transformation initiatives. This position involves working closely with business leaders, process owners, and transformation teams to identify, analyze, and redesign workflows that deliver high value.
The primary focus is on understanding current state processes, uncovering pain points, and defining future state opportunities by leveraging artificial intelligence, automation, Copilot, and workflow transformation strategies.
The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that solutions are aligned with measurable business outcomes and enterprise priorities. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, process expertise, and effective stakeholder engagement to drive successful transformation projects that enhance operational efficiency, improve quality, and elevate customer experience.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of five years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, consulting, or transformation roles. Strong facilitation skills, process mapping expertise, and the ability to gather and document complex business requirements are essential.
Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams is highly valued.
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills are required to effectively translate business challenges into structured requirements and actionable plans. Familiarity with AI, automation, digital transformation initiatives, and Agile methodologies will be advantageous. Knowledge of process improvement frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement is preferred.
Responsibilities Workflow Discovery & Analysis: Facilitate discovery sessions and process mapping workshops with business stakeholders. Document current workflows, pain points, decision points, handoffs, and dependencies. Analyze workflow performance metrics, including volumes, cycle times, error rates, and their business impact. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, customer experience, and operational performance.
Future State Design: Collaborate with business leaders to redesign workflows utilizing AI, Copilot, automation, and other process improvements. Help define future state operating models and streamline business processes by eliminating waste and reducing manual efforts. Facilitate prioritization discussions using established scoring frameworks.
Requirements & User Stories: Translate business needs into detailed requirements and user stories, defining clear acceptance criteria and expected outcomes. Partner with product owners and solution teams to ensure understanding and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain comprehensive documentation to support transparency and traceability.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with business leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams. Drive alignment between business objectives and technological solutions. Present findings, recommendations, and business cases to leadership audiences, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the transformation journey.
Measurement & Value Realization: Establish baseline KPIs and success metrics to track progress. Support the development of business cases and ROI estimates. Monitor transformation outcomes and their impact on the business, partnering with analytics teams to measure adoption and results.
