Pacific Autism Family Network’s Paper Planes Cafe, is currently seeking highly skilled, experienced, outgoing, friendly, energetic and reliable person to join our team as part time Café Barista, who can start training as soon as possible.

Paper Planes Café is located within YVR Airport and will be a training café for individuals who are neurodiverse.

Part time hours would be approximately 16 to 20 Hours per week, availability on Monday's, Wednesday's and weekends required, on call shifts as needed.

This is more than a barista position. At our cafe we support neurodiverse individuals in their employment journey. A big part of this position is supporting our cafe trainees with their skill development. While on shift, part of your responsibilities will be supporting their training as needed.

Ideal candidates will have:

- Experience working with the neurodiverse community
- Ready to work in Canada (open permit without restrictions are welcome)
- At least 1 years' experience preparing and serving coffee and food in a high end hospitality environment;
- " Serving It Right" certification in place, or able to obtain the certification (within a week from employment's first day)
- Ability to perform daily café opening or closing;
- Solid understanding of espresso and drip coffee methods; serving alcohol beverages
- Ability to prepare and serve ready-to-eat sandwiches, wraps, lunch entrees, soups, etc. upon request;
- Responsibility for using the point of sale (POS) system, input orders and receive payments;
- Ability to clean, restock inventory,



empty trash and sanitize equipment and utensils;
- Ability to take on various tasks to assist the owner / manager;
- Professional appearance and excellent communication skills;
- Ability to thrive when faced with new challenges, and keep calm under pressure;
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to multitask;
- Ability to be well groomed and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills in the English language;
- Open availability: some shifts starting as early as 7:30AM and others ending as late as 8:30PM, seven days a week. Also be able to work some shifts at short notice if necessary;
- Punctuality and be a reliable team player with robust interpersonal skills;
- Be very fast and efficient while maintaining order accuracy
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada;
- Food Safe Level 1 certification.

Additional pay:

- Tips (split and paid out at the end of every shift)
- 4% vacation pay accrual
- Overtime pay (when applicable)
