Position Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient Chemistry Tutor to support students in understanding core chemistry concepts and improving academic performance. The tutor will provide individualized or small-group instruction tailored to each student’s learning style and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Explain chemistry concepts clearly, including (but not limited to) stoichiometry, atomic structure, thermodynamics, acids and bases, equilibrium, and basic organic chemistry
- Assist students with homework, lab reports, and exam preparation
- Identify learning gaps and develop customized lesson plans
- Reinforce problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Prepare practice problems, quizzes, and review materials
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a supportive, encouraging learning environment

Qualifications





- Strong understanding of chemistry (high school, AP, or college-level, depending on role)
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred (or currently pursuing)
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
- Reliable, punctual, and professional

Preferred Skills

- Experience with standardized exams (AP, IB, SAT Subject Tests, MCAT basics, etc.)
- Familiarity with virtual tutoring platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, whiteboards)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
