On their behalf, we are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join the executive team. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the organization’s financial strategy, reporting, planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, risk management, regulatory compliance, and governance. As a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Governors, you’ll bring financial insight to strategic decision-making while leading a team of finance, IT, and procurement professionals and ensuring the organization’s long-term financial sustainability.

What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll lead the organization’s financial strategy and provide executive-level financial advice across all business lines. You’ll develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and governance frameworks,



and oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, controllership, treasury management, and audit activities. You’ll also manage the enterprise financial systems and reporting platforms that keep the organization’s financial information timely and accurate, preparing and presenting financial reports to the CEO, Executive Team, Finance and Audit Committee, and Board of Governors, and developing the annual operating and capital budgets, including required submissions to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC).

You’ll provide strategic pricing guidance, including contract billing and labour rates, and ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, tax, and not-for-profit reporting requirements, including CRA obligations. Externally, you’ll manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, insurers, the national Commissionaires federation, and government partners, and contribute to organizational strategy through financial analysis, business cases, and recommendations that support sustainable growth. Internally, you’ll provide executive oversight of payroll, compensation, benefits, and related financial administration, and lead, mentor,



and develop a finance team spanning budgeting, payroll and accounts, IT/cyber, and procurement.

What You’ll Bring

You bring a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and executive experience), along with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing. You have 10+ years of progressive senior financial leadership experience, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and governance within a complex organization, and a track record of advising executive teams, Boards of Directors or Governors, and senior stakeholders. Your knowledge of financial management, accounting standards, regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance is strong, and you’ve demonstrated the ability to translate strategic priorities into measurable financial plans and business cases.

You’ve led and developed high-performing finance teams, and you communicate complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful, collaborative leader with solid business acumen and a genuine commitment to integrity, innovation, and service excellence. You’re as comfortable in the details of financial reporting as you are advising the boardroom, and you bring the judgment to manage competing priorities during budgeting, audit, and Board reporting cycles.
