Young Sprouts Therapy is looking for an experienced, warm, and collaborative Child & Family Therapist to join our growing team.

We are seeking a clinician who is passionate about working with children and families through an attachment-based, relational lens, with strong experience supporting both children and their caregivers.

This is a part-time position of approximately 10 clinical hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. A minimum of approximately 5 hours per week must be provided in person at our Thornhill clinic, with a strong preference for clinicians who are available to work in person on Sundays.

The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal therapist has meaningful experience working with children and families and is comfortable integrating caregivers into the therapeutic process rather than working exclusively with the child.

Strong candidates will have experience with:

- Attachment-based and relational approaches to therapy
- Play therapy
- Theraplay or Theraplay-informed interventions
- Parent coaching and parent consultation
- Supporting parents with emotional regulation, connection, boundaries, behaviour, routines and family dynamics
- Family therapy and systemic approaches
- Working collaboratively with parents as part of a child's treatment plan
- Supporting children with emotional, behavioural, social and developmental concerns

Clinical Modalities Experience with a variety of evidence-informed child and family therapy approaches is valued, including:

- Play Therapy
- Theraplay
- Attachment-focused interventions
- Emotion-Focused Family Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and DBT-informed skills
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)




- Emotion regulation and mindfulness-based approaches
- Family systems approaches
- Strengths-based and trauma-informed therapy
- Parent coaching and psychoeducation

Additional training or experience in any of the following would be considered a strong asset:
- Sand tray or sandplay therapy
- Art-based therapeutic interventions
- Music therapy or music-based therapeutic approaches
- Expressive arts
- Somatic or body-based approaches
- Other specialized child, adolescent or family therapy modalities

Responsibilities The therapist will:

- Provide individual therapy to children and/or adolescents
- Provide parent coaching and parent consultation
- Incorporate caregivers into treatment when clinically appropriate
- Provide family therapy where appropriate
- Develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans
- Maintain timely and professional clinical documentation
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers and other professionals involved in a child's care when appropriate
- Participate as a collaborative member of the Young Sprouts Therapy clinical team
- Maintain professional, ethical and regulatory standards of practice

Qualifications

Applicants should

- Be registered and in positive standing with an appropriate Ontario regulatory college, such as the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)



or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
- Have significant clinical experience working with children and families
- Have strong experience working directly with parents and providing parent coaching or consultation
- Practise from an attachment-informed, relational and family-centred perspective
- Be comfortable providing both in-person and virtual therapy
- Be able to provide a minimum of approximately 5 in-person clinical hours per week
- Ideally be available for Sunday in-person hours
- Be interested in building a caseload of approximately 10 clinical hours per week combined

Training and experience in Play Therapy and/or Theraplay is strongly preferred.

Schedule

- Approximately 10 clinical hours per week
- Flexible scheduling
- Combination of in-person and virtual work
- Minimum approximately 5 hours per week in person
- Sunday availability strongly preferred
