Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Choir Member role located at St. John's Presbyterian Church in Toronto, ON.

The Choir

Member participates in regular worship services, rehearsals, and special events by singing choral parts as assigned, blending with the ensemble, and supporting congregational singing. Daily responsibilities include attending scheduled practices, preparing music in advance, following direction from the choir director, and collaborating with other musicians and church staff. The role also involves supporting seasonal services and outreach events, contributing to a reverent and uplifting worship atmosphere, and modelling respectful, inclusive conduct within the church community.

Qualifications





- Solid vocal ability with experience singing in a choir or ensemble, including the capacity to blend, follow dynamics, and hold harmony parts.
- Basic music literacy, such as the ability to follow sheet music, learn new pieces efficiently, and respond to conductor cues.
- Reliability and commitment to regular attendance at rehearsals, worship services, and special events, with punctuality and preparedness.
- Collaborative mindset, including the ability to work respectfully with choir members, musicians, and church leaders in a team-focused environment.
- Alignment with the church’s worship life and mission, demonstrating professional conduct, integrity, and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
- Prior experience in church music or community choirs is an asset; formal vocal training is beneficial but not required.

Commitment:

Sundays, 10:00 AM rehearsal, followed by 11:00 AM worship service
