JCL Investments Inc is a heavy civil construction company with offices in Corner Brook and CBS. We are currently accepting resumes for a Civil Superintendent for work at Valentine Lake Gold Mine in Central Newfoundland. This is a project-based position with a current rotational schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical construction knowledge, and great communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, coordinate, and supervise all civil construction activities on assigned projects.

· Lead and direct field personnel, subcontractors, and equipment operators.

· Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and drawings.

· Develop and maintain project schedules, workforce plans, and daily work plans.

· Monitor production rates, site progress, and productivity goals.

· Conduct daily site inspections and safety meetings.

· Enforce company safety policies and regulatory requirements.

· Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and project risks.

· Review and approve time sheets, daily reports, and field documentation.

· Monitor equipment utilization and material deliveries.

· Ensure environmental compliance and proper site housekeeping practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications





· 7+ years of civil construction experience, including at least 5 in a supervisory or superintendent role

· Proven experience managing civil construction projects such as:

- Roads and highways
- Site development
- Earthworks and grading
- Utilities and underground services
- Concrete structures
- Drainage and infrastructure projects

· Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. · Knowledge of safety regulations, construction methods, and industry best practices.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driver’s abstract

· Pre-employment background checks will be required which may include employment verification, employment references, education/certification check, and criminal record check.
