Job Overview

We are seeking a responsible and dedicated Class 4 Driver License Holder Bus Driver to safely transport kindergarten/school-aged passengers to and from schools within Red Deer and surrounding areas. This role involves ensuring passenger safety, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive and caring experience for all riders. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience working with young children.

Duties

- Safely operate van along designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist young passengers with boarding and disembarking in a safe and supportive manner
- Ensure the safety and supervision of passengers at all times during transport
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, performing basic mechanical checks when necessary
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing parent/guardian and passenger questions professionally
- Communicate route and safety information clearly to passengers and families when needed
- Keep accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents during shifts
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of safety equipment




- Collaborate with dispatchers and team members to ensure timely departures and arrivals

Requirements

- Valid Class 4 driver’s license with passenger endorsement
- Experience working with young children, in childcare, or in customer service roles is strongly preferred
- Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are an asset
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with children, parents, and team members
- Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting
- Ability to provide guidance and ensure the safety of young passengers during transport
- Excellent driving record with a clean background check and ability to meet any required screening standards
- Good writing skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Prior experience in commercial driving or school transportation is an asset

This position offers an chance to support families in the Red Deer community by providing safe, reliable transportation for young passengers. Pay: $18.64-$23.00 per hour
