Sound Good So Far? We’re Hiring! JOB SUMMARY The Clinical Supervisor is a member of the Leadership Team and reports to the Executive Director.

The Clinical

Supervisor is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating programs designed to provide services for individuals experiencing family violence/abuse.

The Clinical

Supervisor ensures counseling staff and programs operate within the Willow Place Policies and Procedures, the Standards Manual for Women’s Shelters, the Service and Purchase Agreement with Manitoba as well as the Willow Place Clinical Framework. This involves working in a team environment to ensure counselling, protection planning, and education, referrals, advocacy and case management occur according to the established standards and best practices. This includes supervision and oversight of all counselors including hiring, orientation, training, scheduling within the staffing budget, staff supervision, performance appraisals and establishing staff learning and development plans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

STAFFING/SUPERVISON:

- Support the Human Resource Coordinator with recruitment
- Establish and conduct orientation and training of new staff
- Ensure planning, monitoring, coaching and appraisal of employee performance by conducting and documenting regular supervision, probationary performance evaluations and formal performance evaluations

CASE MANAGEMENT:

- Provides regular case management support and direction through case meetings and regular supervision
- Ensures that the appropriate connections and referrals occur for the benefit of the clients
- Reviews files and crisis line documentation to monitor the level of service provided to clients,



to ensure compliance with standards and policy and procedures. Provides feedback/direction as requires to counselling staff
- Provides direct client service as required

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT/EVALUATION:

- Undertakes formal and informal evaluation of programs
- Participates in strategic planning and annual operational planning

CLIENT RELATIONS:

- Communicates with clients in a manner which establishes a trusting relationship based on mutual respect
- Models appropriate supportive behavior with clients, staff and external stakeholders

SHELTER SUPPORT:

- Provides back-up support to other teams to ensure smooth operation of a 24-hour facility, according to the requirements, of each shift and each program area
- Ensures the practical needs of the clients are met

ADMINISTRATION:

- Completes statistical reports for funders
- Reviews and authorizes time sheets bi-weekly according to policies and procedures
- Ensures staff schedules are completed and posted in accordance with the collective agreements and within the Willow Place staffing budget
- Works with the Leadership Team and Executive Director to develop yearly program budgets for the various Teams/Programs in January each year

TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES/STAFF DEVELOPMENT:

- As a member of the Leadership Team, supports the values, guiding principles and strategic direction of Willow Place and a healthy, innovative and team oriented workplace that promotes both personal as well as organizational growth and development, teamwork and respect
- Stays current with best and emerging practices in the fields of counselling, family violence, and organizational development
- Organizes workload and demonstrates effective time management
- Incorporates volunteers and students as valued team members providing support and direction as required
- Initiates debriefings with team members and other staff as needed.




- Provides back-up coverage to other Leadership Team members as required in response to the needs and priorities of a 24-hour continuing care facility which includes other duties as assigned

ORGANIZATION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintains agency confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Engages in regular supervision with the Willow Place Executive Director.
- Maintains ongoing positive stakeholder relations with outside agencies, groups, and individuals
- Maintains a strictly confidential/professional relationship with clients

Any other duty(ies) as and when assigned by the management

QUALIFICATIONS

- Master’s degree in the Human Services sector, MSW preferred, (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a 24/7 residential facility
- Minimum of two years of experience working within the family violence sector with women, men, children, LGBTQ2 and gender non-binary people
- Minimum of three years of supervisory related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of family violence and its impact on women, men, children, LGBTQ2 and gender non-binary people
- Excellent inter-personal communication, written communication and conflict resolution skills as problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be proactive and display leadership
- Ability to support the strategic direction of Willow Place and a healthy, innovative and team-oriented workplace
- Ability to work under pressure in a team setting and balance competing demands for time
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of community resources, collaterals and stakeholders
- Current First Aid, CPR, PHIA and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate
- Flexible to meet the needs of a 24-hour care facility
- Satisfactory Adult and Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check.

Pay: $57,544.50-$77,493.00 per year
