Why This Opportunity Matters This position is intended for an experienced site leader who wants their contribution to matter.

You will be trusted to manage the daily execution of assigned projects while working closely with Project Managers, company leadership, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

This is not an environment where a supervisor simply identifies problems and passes them along. We expect our supervisors to understand the issue, consider practical solutions, communicate clearly and help move the project forward. What the Site Supervisor Will Be Responsible For The Site Supervisor will oversee the daily field execution of commercial construction projects throughout the GTA.

Depending on project size and complexity, the successful candidate may be assigned to one primary project or support the coordination of multiple active locations.

Key responsibilities include

- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily site activities
- Organize upcoming work based on the project schedule, drawings, specifications and site conditions
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, labourers, deliveries, equipment, inspections and site access
- Confirm that trades understand their scope, sequence, schedule and site requirements
- Maintain safe, clean, organized and professional worksites
- Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks and regular safety discussions
- Monitor workmanship and confirm that completed work meets project requirements
- Identify deficiencies early and ensure corrective work is completed
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes and schedules before work proceeds
- Identify conflicts, missing information and constructability concerns before they affect production
- Coordinate requests for information with the Project Manager
- Monitor short-term schedules and provide realistic updates on progress and upcoming requirements
- Anticipate material, labour, access and equipment needs




- Protect completed work and surrounding occupied or operational areas
- Coordinate inspections and assist with deficiency and closeout activities
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photographs and site records
- Document delays, disruptions, incidents, changes and important site decisions
- Communicate professionally with clients, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors and suppliers
- Escalate issues promptly when they affect safety, quality, schedule, cost or contractual obligations
- Support the Project Manager with change identification, scheduling, procurement and project closeout
- Hold trades accountable while maintaining productive working relationships
- Recommend practical improvements to company site procedures and project-execution standards

The Site Supervisor will be expected to take ownership of the site without making unauthorized contractual, financial or scope commitments on behalf of the company. What Success Looks Like in the First 6–12 Months

Within the first year, the successful candidate should have:

- Established the confidence of company leadership, Project Managers and field personnel
- Demonstrated reliable control of assigned sites
- Maintained professional, organized and safety-focused working environments
- Produced consistent and helpful daily documentation
- Improved communication between the site and office
- Identified schedule risks and coordination problems before they became major issues
- Maintained subcontractor accountability without damaging important working relationships
- Demonstrated strong understanding of drawings, specifications, scopes and project priorities
- Helped reduce avoidable deficiencies, rework and site disruptions
- Contributed practical ideas that improved project execution
- Represented Iron Shake professionally with clients, consultants, inspectors and trades
- Demonstrated the ability to manage increasingly complex assignments based on performance

Success will not be measured by whether problems occur. Construction projects always present challenges. Success will be measured by how early those challenges are identified, how professionally they are managed and whether the supervisor takes ownership of moving the project toward a solution.

Required Experience and Qualifications

- Minimum five years of commercial construction site-supervision experience
- Demonstrated experience supervising subcontractors, trades and site personnel
- Experience delivering commercial construction, renovation, fit-out or rehabilitation projects
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules and scope documents
- Practical understanding of construction sequencing and trade coordination
- Strong knowledge of job-site safety requirements and supervisory responsibilities
- Ability to plan work several days and weeks ahead rather than reacting only to immediate issues
- Experience documenting daily progress, delays, incidents, deficiencies and changes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using email, digital drawings, photographs, daily reporting tools and construction-management software
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence and the ability to travel between GTA project locations
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain before beginning site duties:
- Working at Heights certification
- WHMIS training
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Ontario construction health-and-safety awareness training applicable to supervisors

Equivalent certifications and relevant experience will be considered. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are beneficial but are not mandatory:

- College diploma, degree or trade certification related to construction
- Gold Seal certification or progress toward certification
- Experience working in occupied commercial or industrial facilities
- Experience with additions, structural work, building-envelope work or complex renovations
- Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical and architectural trades




- Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project or similar platforms
- Experience supporting project budgeting, change documentation or cost tracking
- Experience developing short-term look-ahead schedules
- Experience taking projects through deficiency correction and final closeout
- Previous hands-on construction or skilled-trade experience

This position will not suit someone who waits to be told about every next step, avoids documentation, ignores developing problems or believes accountability belongs only to the office. Compensation and Benefits The recommended compensation package for this position includes:

- Base salary of $105,000–$125,000 annually, based on experience and demonstrated capability
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
- Company fuel card for approved business travel

- Full-time, permanent position
- Primarily field-based and on-site
- Projects located throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area
- Assignment to numerous projects throughout the year
- Typical site schedule of approximately 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
- Earlier starts, extended hours or occasional weekend work may be required based on project conditions, shutdowns, emergencies or major milestones
- Regular travel between project sites, suppliers, inspections and company meetings may be required
- This is not a remote or office-only position

The Site Supervisor is expected to be present when site conditions require leadership—not only during convenient or predictable periods.
