We are a commercial flat roofing contractor in Alberta seeking a motivated and organized Safety
Administrator to oversee and strengthen our health and safety program. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation,
maintaining our COR program, supporting field operations, and promoting a culture where safety is the foundation of every project.
The successful candidate will work closely with management, site supervisors, and roofing crews to ensure our employees return home safely every day.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Program
- Administer and maintain the company's Health & Safety Management System.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation,
regulations, and code.
- Coordinate and maintain our COR (Certificate of Recognition) program, including
internal and external audits.
- Review and update company safety policies, procedures, safe work practices, and hazard
assessments.
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and compliance files.
Field Support
- Conduct regular job site inspections.
- Identify hazards and work with supervisors to implement corrective actions.
- Perform incident, injury, and near-miss investigations and prepare reports with corrective
action plans.
- Monitor compliance with fall protection, working-at-heights requirements, PPE, ladder
safety, and roofing-specific safe work practices.
- Ensure proper inspection and documentation of fall protection equipment, anchors,
ladders, safety equipment and vehicles. Training & Compliance
- Coordinate employee onboarding and safety orientations.
- Schedule and track required certifications and training, including:
o Fall Protection o Standard First Aid/CPR o WHMIS o CSTS 2020
- Deliver or coordinate toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
- Maintain employee training records and certification expiries.
Administrative Duties
- Ensure all documentation is updated and maintained on Sitedocs.
- Maintain WCB documentation and assist with return-to-work programs.
- Coordinate subcontractor safety compliance and documentation if required.
- Support project start-up documentation, site-specific safety plans, and client
prequalification requirements.
- Assist contractor compliance platforms, if applicable.

Qualifications
- Experience in commercial roofing, construction, or industrial safety.
- Strong knowledge of commercial flat roofing operations and associated hazards.
- Thorough understanding of Alberta OHS legislation and COR requirements.
- Experience conducting site inspections and incident investigations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Sitedocs and digital recordkeeping.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with the ability to travel to project sites.
- COR Auditor Certification.
Preferred Certifications
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO)
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or CRST designation (asset)
- Fall Protection Instructor (asset)
- Standard First Aid
- WHIMIS Trainer
