Become an integral part of the City of Waterloo by serving as a NORC Community Connector for special project initiatives. This full-time role focuses on enhancing community programming and wellness support for older adults. Reporting to the Supervisor of Neighbourhood Services, you will engage with Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities (NORCs) to build trust and promote wellbeing among older adults.
Collaborate with partners, lead capacity-building initiatives, and facilitate inclusive programming tailored to resident needs. Your leadership will help foster vibrant, resident-led communities in Waterloo's aging population. Key Responsibilities:
- Champion NORC community programming and wellness supports
- Foster relationships with older adults and community partners
- Lead training for NORC Ambassadors
- Develop partnerships with local NORC buildings
- Support and organize resident-led activities Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field
- Minimum two years of experience with older adults
- Robust leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of community support services in Waterloo
- Proficient in MS Office and related software Make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults by building connections and community through the City of Waterloo's NORC initiatives.
