About Us

Jack Cewe Construction Ltd. (CEWE) is a privately owned and locally operated general contractor based in British Columbia. Since 1953, CEWE has specialized in road building and civil construction, providing services that include excavation, aggregate placement for base and sub-base, underground utility installation, concrete slabs, sidewalks and curbs, asphalt paving, and milling.

CEWE is seeking an experienced Concrete Sidewalk and Curb Finisher to join our Construction Division. The successful candidate will bring civil construction or road-building experience and work as part of the concrete crew to complete sidewalk and curb projects safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare work areas for concrete placement, including setting and aligning forms and applying required coatings or treatments.

· Guide the placement of concrete into forms and onto prepared surfaces.

· Spread, level, and finish concrete using rakes, shovels, screeds, trowels,



and related tools.

· Produce specified finishes, including broom, trowel, and stamped finishes.

· Operate hand and power tools such as edgers, jointers, and saws to shape and finish concrete.

· Apply curing compounds and sealants to protect finished surfaces and support proper curing.

· Remove and dismantle forms following concrete placement and curing.

· Inspect completed work for quality and conformance with project specifications.

· Follow all site safety requirements, company procedures, and regulatory standards.

· Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete work safely and on schedule.

Qualifications and Attributes

· At least two years of experience as a concrete finisher, preferably in road or civil construction.

· Sound knowledge of concrete placement, levelling, curing, and finishing techniques.

· Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in concrete finishing.

· Strong attention to detail and the ability to achieve specified grades, lines, textures, and finishes.

· Physical stamina and the ability to perform demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Effective communication skills and the ability to contribute positively within a team environment.

· Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with construction-site requirements.

Pay: From $44.00 per hour
