ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lead Concrete Finisher, you are responsible for executing high-end residential and commercial flatwork projects to exact specifications. You will lead the slab from pour to final cure, managing finishing techniques, formwork alignment and crew execution on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expert finishing: Perform expert-level hand and power trowel finishing, screeding, edging, floating, brooming and specialized texturing across diverse residential and commercial flatwork.
- Forming & sub-grade prep: Set, align and secure concrete forms to exact grades and elevation specifications. Interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate site prep and structural integrity.
- Equipment & tool mastery: Safely operate power trowels, concrete saws, grinders, vibrators, and related trade equipment. Perform clean equipment maintenance and routine care.
- Restoration & patching: Skillfully repair,
restore and address surface defects or damaged concrete structures as needed.
- Site leadership & quality control: Work collaboratively with site managers, pump operators, and labourers to ensure pours run efficiently, cleanly and safely.

- Proven expertise: 10+ years of flatwork finishing experience and extensive experience setting forms and framing.
- Blueprint reading: Strong ability to read, interpret and work directly from construction drawings and site plans.
- Punctual & dependable: You respect your crew’s time. You understand that when a finisher is late or absent, the entire pour is compromised.
- Physical Capability: Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving up to 50 lbs repeatedly, standing, bending and working outdoors in all seasonal Alberta weather conditions.
- Problem solver: Sharp eye for detail with proactive troubleshooting skills during live pours.
- Safety first: Committed to safety standards, proper PPE and maintaining a hazard-free work site. First Aid certification is an asset.
Schedule & Requirements
- Hours: Day shifts, Monday to Friday, with overtime (daily hours over 8, weekly hours over 44) and weekend work as required by weather and pour schedules.
- Language: English (required).
- Location: Must be able to reliably commute to job sites across the Edmonton area. Valid Driver’s Licence and clean driving record preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
