About the Role

We're looking for a Controller to support the accounting and financial reporting functions for Be Fresh Market and Blush Lane Market. The Controller will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making through financial analysis and advanced Excel modelling.

The ideal candidate has broad experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and is familiar with the Microsoft cloud ecosystem. They are a collaborative accounting professional with strong technical accounting expertise who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

What You'll Do

- Support and collaborate with team members to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all accounting activities and financial reporting.
- Ensure financial reporting complies with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.




- Collaborate with the accounting team to complete month-end and year-end close processes while meeting established deadlines.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes to improve operational efficiency and maintain audit readiness.
- Support the senior leadership in working with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Support business planning initiatives through financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Monitor working capital, cash flow, and treasury activities to support business objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, merchandising, retail leadership, and other internal teams to improve reporting accuracy and support business growth.
- Review contracts and agreements from a financial and risk management perspective.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and system capabilities, including enhancements within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What You'll Bring

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Broad experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and familiarity with the Microsoft cloud ecosystem.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and data analysis.




- Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and operational accounting.
- Experience working in a quick-paced retail, grocery, or consumer goods environment is considered an asset.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
- A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach to financial processes and systems.

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) : 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (preferred)
