Acero Engineering Inc. (“ Acero ”), a dynamic company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise to the Oil and Gas industry is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill a role as a
Controls Engineer/Tech nician . Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up.
Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services and construction management.
Responsibilities
- Redline and/or generate all design delivery documents such as instrument alarm & setting lists, cause & effect diagrams, I/O assignments, and other controls documentation.
- Prepare Control Narrative & Control Philosophies.
- Update cause & effect diagram, alarm & setting lists to reflect additional control scope.
- Redline and update P&IDs; to incorporate control logic changes.
- Redline engineering drawings to incorporate construction changes, including P&IDs;, Control Narratives, cause & effect diagrams, shutdown keys, and other controls-related documents.
- Review and approve Requests for Information (RFIs) and process Field Design Notices (FDNs).
- Generate and process Management of Changes (MOC) per construction requirements.
- Coordinate and manage controls-related subcontractors, including PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI development, as required.
- Communicate with Client and 3rd party Controls personnel.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as required.
Required Education, Experience And Skills
- Minimum of 6 years as a Controls Engineer/Technician in Oil and Gas Facilities in Western Canada.
- Field experience is an asset.
- Strong ability to navigate P&IDs;, especially process control systems, is required.
- Proficient working knowledge of CEC, standards, specs, and Regulations would be an advantage.
- Understanding and working effectively with Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Bluebeam.
- Excellent team collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Solid written, verbal, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients.
