Position Summary
At Athlete Institute, food is more than a meal, it’s the fuel that drives athletic peak performance, recovery, and community. We are seeking a passionate, reliable, and self-motivated Cook to play a vital role in fueling our athletes, coaches, and visitors.
Focusing primarily on afternoon, evening, and Saturday shifts, you will be on the frontlines of our food service operations, ensuring our athletes receive top-tier, nutritious, and high-quality meals in a welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to the demanding training schedules and dietary needs of our athletes and guests.
- Execute established menus and recipes with consistency, prioritizing food quality, portion control, and vibrant presentation.
- Maintain a spotless, organized, and compliant kitchen environment, upholding strict health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and proactive communication of supply needs to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Deliver exceptional, friendly service to athletes, staff, and campus visitors, contributing to a supportive and upbeat dining culture.
- Play a key role in executing catering operations for tournaments, special events, and team showcases.
- Complete necessary closing tasks, including dishwashing, equipment sanitation, and dining area upkeep, leaving the workspace tournament-ready.
- Work closely alongside the Manager, Food & Beverage to elevate overall dining operations and adapt to dynamic academy schedules.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a commercial kitchen, sports facility, or high-volume cafeteria workplace.
- Valid Food Handler Certification (Required).
- Strong foundation in food safety, sanitation regulations, and kitchen organization.
- Ability to work independently with high efficiency during fast-paced service windows.
- Positive attitude with excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset.
- Natural passion for health, nutrition, sports, or wellness is a major asset.
Work Schedule & Expectations
- Primary availability required for weekends and select daytime/evening shifts.
- Flexibility to take on additional shifts during peak tournament schedules, training camps, and special events.
