Our 128 bed LTC home in the heart of Cornwall is looking for a cook(s) to complement our dietary team. Competitive wages in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

- meal preparation
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and plating dishes according to established standards.
- Cook menu items accurately and consistently, maintaining high quality and presentation standards.
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and safety regulations.
- Sanitary Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including counters, utensils, and cooking equipment, adhering to health regulations.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders.
- Assist with deliveries

Skills

- Proven experience in food service, restaurant or other LTC home environment with a strong understanding of food preparation techniques.




- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.

- Ability to serve guests with professionalism, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
- Familiarity with cooking methods, meal preparation, and kitchen equipment operation.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within the team.

- Grade 12 diploma
- a current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Negative VSS

Pay: From $21.36 per hour
