Cook – Ulkatcho Mercantile

Ulkatcho Mercantile is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and friendly Cook to join our team in Anahim Lake, BC.

The Cook will be responsible for preparing fresh, appealing meals and food items for customers while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well with others, and enjoys providing good food and service to our local community.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, food items, and daily specials.
- Follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality and portion sizes.
- Prepare food safely while following all food-handling and sanitation requirements.
- Accommodate reasonable dietary needs and food allergies when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
- Monitor inventory and communicate when food and kitchen supplies need to be ordered.
- Assist with receiving and putting away food and other kitchen supplies.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Provide friendly and respectful customer service.
- Work cooperatively with other Ulkatcho Mercantile staff.
- Perform other kitchen and food-service duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous cooking or food-service experience is an asset.




- Food Safe certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and productive during busy periods.
- Robust attention to cleanliness and detail.
- Friendly and respectful attitude toward customers, coworkers, and community members.
- Ability to follow directions and workplace procedures.

You should be dependable, willing to learn, and comfortable taking responsibility for keeping the kitchen running smoothly.
