Company Description Cranemasters Hoisting + Rigging Training is a specialized overhead crane and rigging educational facility serving clients across North America. The organization delivers courses such as Overhead Crane & Rigging, Rigging Fundamentals, and Rigging for Supervisors, designed to support safe and effective lifting operations.

All training programs and reference materials are aligned with current ASME and OH&S; standards, as well as applicable manufacturers’ specifications. In addition to classroom and custom in office training, Cranemasters provides competency verification, site safety audits, incident investigations, and free safety talks to support ongoing workplace safety and compliance.

Role Description The Crane & Rigging Instructor is a full-time role responsible for delivering high-quality training on overhead crane operation and rigging requirements to a variety of learners. The role is hybrid, based in Edmonton, AB, with a mix of on-site instruction at training facilities, client locations, and some office work.

Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and updating course content, teaching classroom and practical sessions, demonstrating safe rigging techniques, and ensuring training aligns with current standards and manufacturers’ specifications. The instructor will prepare the student for their employer to assess their competency, complete training documentation, support the rigging verification process, and contribute to safety talks, audits, and incident review activities.



Collaboration with the training team to improve course materials and respond to client training needs is expected.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

- Ideal candidate should possess strong crane and rigging knowledge and practical experience, including familiarity with overhead crane operation, rigging fundamentals, and lifting equipment use.
- Ideal candidate should possess skills in instruction and facilitation, including classroom teaching, hands-on skills demonstration, coaching adult learners, and presenting safety topics clearly.
- Ideal candidate should possess competency in safety and compliance, including working knowledge of ASME and OH&S; standards, risk assessment, and incident prevention practices.
- Ideal candidate should possess organization and communication skills, including course planning, documentation, report writing, and clear verbal and written communication with clients and participants.
- Ideal candidate should possess comfort with basic technology, including using presentation software, online training tools, and digital systems for tracking training and competency verification.
- Relevant certifications or trade background in crane operation, rigging, or occupational health and safety are beneficial.
- Experience in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments and a strong commitment to safety culture are beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region for on-site training are beneficial.
