Company Description The Organisme d’intervention communautaire spécialisée (OICS) is a non-profit organization based in Dieppe, New Brunswick, dedicated to building safer, fairer, and more inclusive communities. OICS works across Greater Moncton and southeastern New Brunswick, offering services in both French and English. Its programs focus on prevention with youth, families, and people at risk; reintegration for individuals involved with the justice system; and community safety through collaboration with local communities and institutional partners.

OICS uses evidence-based practices, tracking outcomes such as housing, employment, and judicial compliance through a digital platform and comprehensive training modules. The organization is expanding initiatives, including the afrocentric ReCode Noir reintegration program and the development of a community center and transition houses.

Role Description The Criminology Technician is a full time, hybrid role based in Moncton, NB, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the technician supports prevention, reintegration, and community safety programs by gathering, documenting, and analyzing case information and indicators related to housing, employment, and justice-system compliance. Daily tasks include conducting interviews and assessments with participants, maintaining detailed records in OICS’s digital platform, and preparing concise reports and summaries for internal use and partners.

The technician collaborates closely with frontline workers,



community organizations, and institutional stakeholders to coordinate services, follow up at regular intervals, and ensure continuity of care. The role also involves contributing to program evaluation, supporting training activities, and helping refine evidence-based practices that strengthen community safety and inclusion. Qualifications

Relevant education in criminology, criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field (diploma or degree).

Applied skills in interviewing, assessment, and case documentation, with the ability to work respectfully with people at risk and individuals involved with the justice system.

Competence in data entry, information management, and basic analysis using digital platforms or databases to track outcomes and follow-ups.

Solid written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a significant asset.

Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with community and institutional partners.

Organizational skills to manage multiple cases, maintain accurate records, and meet reporting timelines.

Understanding of community safety, reintegration, and prevention principles, including an interest in evidence-based and afrocentric approaches.

Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with reliability for in-person work in the Moncton area and disciplined self-management when working from home.

Experience in community organizations, justice-related settings, or social services is an asset.
