Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada.

In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

The successful candidate will work with customers and the DLS team to install and service a variety of dairy equipment at various dairy farms located throughout Saskatchewan. The position will require working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Dependent on the location of the job, out of town/overnight stays may be necessary while completing the project.

This is a full-time position Monday – Friday.

Compensation will be based on background and experience.

Once trained, there will be a requirement for this individual to be on call for emergency service. A company phone and vehicle will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

Install, maintain and repair dairy farm equipment (stabling, ventilation, automated milking/manure, some robotics)

Troubleshoot installation/mechanical issues/failures

Repair the problems and get equipment back in operating condition – often under tight timelines

Weld equipment and components for proper installation

Follow detailed diagrams/drawings of parlour map and install all components accordingly

Co-operate with other construction contractors to ensure all aspects of the job are covered

Operate forklift/telehandler and aerial lift equipment on occasion/as required

Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship and image with our customers

Provide quality workmanship consistent with company and industry standards

Follow Health and Safety requirements in all regards ensuring prevention of illness/injury

Work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions

Skills and Qualifications

Excellent troubleshooting skills (experience in some or all of the following: electronics, PLC’s, compressed air, hydraulics)





Plumbing and electrical experience a definite asset

Installation/Service Technician experience

Background in the dairy industry would be an asset

Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload meeting strict deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction

Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work

Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with customers regarding the work being done

Ability to perform physical tasks that may require climbing, lifting, pushing, bending/stooping

Mechanical aptitude to be able to troubleshoot the mechanical equipment

Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada

Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract required

Compensation commensurate with experience
