Position Overview
TAC Sports is seeking a full-time Dance Camp Instructor to lead an energetic, creative, and performance-driven summer camp program for campers of all skill levels. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about dance, enjoy working with children, and can create a fun, expressive, and inclusive environment.
The TAC Dance Summer Camp introduces campers to a variety of dance styles, with a strong focus on hip-hop and popular music. Using the 5-Star TAC Development System, instructors guide participants through progressive skill development, choreography, and performance preparation. Campers will build confidence, coordination, and creativity while working toward an exciting end-of-week performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead dance camp sessions in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate environment
Teach foundational dance techniques, with a focus on hip-hop and popular choreography
Choreograph and teach routines that build progressively throughout the week
Incorporate elements of fitness, stretching, and movement training into sessions
Use the 5-Star TAC Development System to track progress and support skill development
Encourage creativity and self-expression while guiding structured learning
Prepare campers for an end-of-week performance, building confidence and stage presence
Adapt instruction to suit a range of ages, abilities, and experience levels
Provide individualized feedback to help campers improve technique and confidence
Supervise campers during activities, transitions, and breaks to ensure safety and positive behaviour
Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, and equipment organization
Build positive relationships with campers, families, and TAC Sports staff
Follow TAC Sports’ program plans, safety procedures, and child supervision standards at all times
Qualifications
Experience working with children in camps, dance programs, or recreation settings
Background in dance (hip-hop, contemporary, or similar styles preferred)
Ability to teach choreography in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way
Energetic, creative, and confident leading groups in an active environment
Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
Ability to encourage creativity and build confidence in young dancers
Experience with choreography and performance preparation is an asset
Background in dance, kinesiology, recreation, or physical education is an asset
First Aid/CPR certification and Vulnerable Sector Check, or willingness to obtain them, preferred
