Required The Data and Analytics Initiative Department works on data governance and data valorization for the Desjardins Group Security Office (DGSO). As a cross-sector data governance advisor, you help define and implement data management processes to ensure the optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, in accordance with compliance, confidentiality, privacy and security rules. You help teams recognize and manage data as a strategic asset.
You also contribute to data valorization governance, including analytics and artificial intelligence initiatives, to promote responsible, secure, compliant use in accordance with applicable frameworks and in line with organizational objectives. You prepare recommendations on data use and compliance with governance documents that apply to data, that are adapted to the teams’ various needs and the organization’s objectives. You serve as a data governance resource person for practitioners.
You interact with stakeholders working in other fields to understand needs and present and explain proposed solutions. More specifically, you will be required to:
Advise data producers and users on how to improve their understanding and maximize their use of data valorization methods while maintaining sound data governance practices.
Advise and train teams on how to apply data management processes and controls properly.
Develop and maintain data governance logs, tools and dashboards.
Identify the sector’s data governance needs and opportunities.
Help teams analyze risks and potential gaps between what is set out in the governance documents and their operational practices.
Develop and implement practices and mechanisms to ensure compliance with the governance documents that apply to data.
Measure and monitor the performance of the standards and the practices in place, including changes in data governance maturity.
Carry out projects related to the development of data governance.

What You Bring To The Table
Bachelor's degree in a related field A minimum of four years of relevant experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience working for organizations with a mature data governance model, with a clear understanding of associated roles and responsibilities
Experience mapping and developing business processes
Experience with the identification and management of data quality issues
Knowledge of French is required
Solid communication skills and the ability to simplify complex information
Mastery of data governance concepts
Knowledge of data catalogs, preferably IBM Knowledge Catalog (IKC)
Knowledge of data valorization including artificial intelligence
Familiarity with Agile methodology
Knowledge of the security sector
Business insight, Interpersonal Savvy
