Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Daycare professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in food service and culinary skills, ensuring that our children receive nutritious and delicious meals. This role is essential in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children while also managing dietary needs and preferences.

Please Note: This position requires previous experience working as a chef/cook in a licensed childcare center. Applicants without childcare cooking experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks for children, adhering to dietary guidelines.
- Plan menus that cater to the nutritional needs of children, considering allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas, following food safety standards.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure a positive dining experience for all children.
- Assist in meal preparation, including cooking, food handling, and serving.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.




- Implement proper food safety practices during all stages of food preparation and service.
- Engage with children during meal times to promote healthy eating habits.

Qualifications

- Experience in the dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Background in menu planning, fine dining, or restaurant experience is a plus.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques and knife skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment.
- Previous experience in catering or food service is beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
