The Delivery Driver will be responsible for delivering totes of groceries and other related products to customers in Calgary, Edmonton and surrounding areas. The role requires professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to top-level customer service, with a strong focus on safe driving and delivery practices.
Experience in transporting groceries, alcohol, home health care products and other related products is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the routing planning team on high-volume delivery runs throughout Calgary/Edmonton and surrounding areas.
- Maintain accurate delivery records using route planning software.
- Safely transport groceries and related products in designated fleet vehicles according to their specified temperature requirements
- Comply with regulatory requirements for alcohol delivery.
- Load and offload light to heavy totes, boxes of food/alcohol products and home health care products of varying sizes.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections at the beginning and end of each shift, reporting and logging issues in the fleet management system.
- Troubleshoot vehicle issues, particularly with the refrigeration unit.
- Monitor and maintain vehicle fluid levels as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed,
such as tote transfers and product relocations.
- Follow all safe work practices and proactively identify and rectify any safety issues.
- Maintain fleet vehicles in clean, safe, and working condition.
Qualifications:
- Clear Class 5 Driver's License (other licenses are welcome).
- 3-year driver’s abstract required.
- ProServe and SellSafe certification required
- Experience with Fleet Management and Route Management apps
- Excellent navigation skills
- Valuable communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Ability to load and offload grocery totes; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and enjoy physically active work.
- Must be able to work long hours and in adverse weather conditions.
- Experience with fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Working knowledge of loading and unloading practices.
- Interest in the food industry is an asset.
- Ability to maintain a professional, clean, and organized work environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
