Precision Directional Drilling Inc. is seeking a Directional Driller/Equipment Operator to join our team, the Company is based out of Zurich, ON. with a report to yard also located in Harriston area.
Precision Directional Drilling Inc. is an affiliate of Liuna Local 1059 Union.
Responsibilities:
- Operate directional drills, tools and other heavy equipment required to install conduits/pipes in the ground independently and safely
- Complete pre-jobsite inspections to ensure a safe work environment
- Complete post-job site inspections to ensure proper restoration has been accomplished
- Ensure that all tools, materials, and equipment are properly stored.
- Ensure all equipment is running as it should and report any maintenance/issues to the Maintenance Department
- Cleaning and maintenance of all heavy equipment and job site equipment.
- Load/unload and transport materials on trucks and trailers.
- Communicate effectively with the site foreman
- Keep track of work orders and complete all required paperwork daily
- Complete all duties safely and efficiently in accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy
- Follow all rules and regulations in accordance with the CVOR
- Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years experience operating a Directional Drill (Preferred)
- Ability to box locate, and read locates accurately
- Ability to excavate around existing utilities is an asset
- Ability to read utility locate packages
- Ability to complete physically demanding tasks such as digging coupling/daylighting pits, heavy lifting
- Ability to work in confined areas
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment as a team member
- Ability to operate directional drills, and other heavy machinery safely in a fast paced environment around excavators and other heavy equipment.
- Posses a Valid Ontario Class G License (AZ license preferred)
- CLEAN Drivers Abstract Required
- Good time management skills with ability to prioritize work tasks in a busy environment and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instruction in both oral and written form from Management and complete requested tasks in a safe and efficient manner
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write reports and perform other administrative tasks such as filing paperwork or correspondence.
