Job Summary:

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer’s site.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Tumbler Ridge, BC).

Will make an impact in the following ways:

- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

- Ongoing development/certifications on recent and existing Cummins products

- Maintain own tools

Responsibilities In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

- Completes complex internal engine repairs

- Performs engine overhauls unassisted

- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

- Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Qualifications

Main working location is Tumbler Ridge reporting to the Remote Mining West operation from Hinton based in Kamloops.

We are seeking a new team member for a resident position that operates on a 14‑on/14‑off rotation with 12‑hour shifts under a collective bargaining agreement. The primary schedule will be day shift, though occasional night shifts may be required.

Travel to site and from site is outside of the 14 day shift.

In this role, you will support our customer in their Quintette operations, with the potential to assist at our other locations when needed.

You will work at a coal mine site, performing diagnostics and repairs on both Cummins and non‑Cummins engines and equipment.

We will require a journeyperson with red seal.





Pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing will be required.

-This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations and must meet the conditions of the company policy

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Basic level field service work experience

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Customer service experience
