Join our dynamic construction team as an Excavator Operator and Lead Hand, where your expertise will drive the success of diverse excavation and heavy equipment projects. As a key player in office, you’ll operate excavators and other heavy machinery to perform critical tasks that lay the foundation for infrastructure development, commercial projects, and site preparation.

Responsibilities

- Operate excavators with precision to complete excavation, grading, trenching, and site clearing tasks efficiently and safely.
- Lead a team of equipment operators and laborers, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to plan daily operations and optimize equipment usage.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and pavers to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with the operation of auxiliary equipment including loaders, dozers, graders, horizontal drills, and paving machinery as needed.




- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment logs, safety checks, and project progress reports.

Requirements

- Proven experience operating excavators in construction or similar environments; familiarity with Caterpillar (CAT) machinery is highly valued.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and pavers.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience leading or supervising a team on-site.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for operating heavy machinery across job sites.
- Proficiency in operating additional equipment including dozers, loaders, graders, horizontal drills, backhoes, and paving machines.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices; ability to enforce safety protocols effectively.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and quality standards.
