We’re hiring: External Relations and Partnerships Specialist

Canada Powered by Women (CPW) is seeking an organized, proactive, and relationship-oriented External Relations and Partnerships Specialist to support the organization’s fundraising, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and external relations activities.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising and sponsorship (30% of role):

– Maintain the fundraising pipeline in Salesforce.

– Coordinate corporate sponsorship opportunities from prospect through stewardship and renewal.

– Assist in preparing sponsorship proposals, partnership agreements, and funding submissions.

– Conduct prospect research on corporations, foundations, and philanthropic organizations.

– Prepare meeting briefing notes and background research.

– Track proposal deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.

– Prepare stewardship reports, dashboards and donor recognition materials.

– Coordinate sponsorship fulfillment and partner benefits.

External and stakeholder relations (15% of role):

– Maintain stakeholder and government contact records within Salesforce.

– Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities and follow-up.

– Support advocacy initiatives by coordinating logistics and stakeholder communications.

– Monitor external engagement commitments and action items.

Salesforce and pipeline management (25% of role):





– Serve as the primary administrator for external relations and fundraising records.

– Maintain accurate opportunity stages, next steps, and activity tracking.

– Produce dashboards and reports for leadership and the Board.

– Ensure data quality and consistency across fundraising and stakeholder records.

– Generate pipeline reports and fundraising analytics.

Proposal and communications development (15% of role):

– Develop sponsorship packages and partnership collateral.

– Coordinate proposal development and document production.

– Assist with impact reports and stewardship communications.

– Support presentations, briefing decks, and external communications materials.

– Coordinate approvals and version control across proposal documents.

Project coordination (10% of role):

– Coordinate timelines across fundraising, partnerships, and stakeholder initiatives.

– Schedule meetings and prepare agendas where appropriate.

– Track deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.

– Support planning and execution of stakeholder engagement in CPW events and programs i.e. roundtables, forums and the Calgary Stampede.

Qualifications

– 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, external relations, stakeholder and government relations, communications, or a related field.

– Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

– Excellent written communication skills.

– Experience developing professional proposals and presentations.

– Strong attention to detail.

– Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

– Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

– Experience using Salesforce or another CRM.

– Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred





– Experience working in a non-profit or advocacy organization.

– Familiarity with sponsorship development and fulfilment.

– Understanding of government or stakeholder engagement.

– Experience preparing funding or sponsorship proposals.

– Knowledge of Canadian public policy and the energy sector is considered an asset.

Within the first year, you will:

– Maintain accurate, up-to-date stakeholder and fundraising pipelines in Salesforce.

– Improve visibility into partnership and fundraising opportunities through reporting and dashboards.

– Coordinate high-quality sponsorship proposals and partnership materials.

– Ensure timely follow-up on stakeholder meetings and external engagement activities.

– Support successful execution of fundraising campaigns and partnership initiatives.

– Enable senior leadership to spend more time cultivating strategic relationships by managing operational coordination.
