Fall/Winter Adventure Guide & Driver

Canmore Trails and Tales Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic, professional Adventure Guide & Driver to join our team for the fall and winter season. If you enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, sharing the outdoors with others, and creating memorable experiences for guests from around the world, we'd love to hear from you.

This position is ideal for experienced outdoor professionals who are passionate about interpretation, guest safety, and providing exceptional customer service.

Position Details

- Location: Canmore, Banff & Kananaskis, Alberta
- Hours: 15–30 hours per week
- Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday with some weekend work required
- Season: Fall/Winter

What You'll Do
- Lead guided hiking and snowshoeing tours for beginner and intermediate participants.
- Drive guests safely between tour locations using company vehicles.
- Deliver engaging interpretation about local wildlife, history, geology, and the natural environment.
- Create a fun, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for guests of all ages.
- Manage group safety and pacing while adapting to changing weather and trail conditions.
- Complete pre-trip safety checks and maintain professional standards throughout each tour.

Required Qualifications
- Class 4 Alberta Driver's Licence (required)
- Reliable personal vehicle for commuting to work and meeting locations
- Outdoor Council of Canada (OCC) Field Leader Certification, ACMG Hiking Guide, or Interpretive Guides Association (IGA) Guide Certification
- Canadian Standard First Aid with CPR C
- Excellent communication and customer service skills




- Strong hiking ability and confidence leading groups in mountain environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
- Wilderness First Aid with CPR C
- Previous qualified guiding experience
- Experience leading hiking and snowshoe tours
- Accommodation in Canmore or Banff is preferred
- Knowledge of the Canmore, Banff, and Kananaskis areas
- Experience working with international visitors
