Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Farm Manager or Owner, the successful applicant ill be required to:

· Develop a thorough knowledge of alpaca fibre and promote its attributes and benefits to customers in order to help the customer make a purchasing decision;

· Greet and interact with customers to build a relationship through exceptional customer service and a consistent memorable experience

· Conduct tours, information sessions and alpaca walks, sharing alpaca knowledge and representing our farm values to the general public

· feed and tend livestock (alpacas, cattle) and poultry, including cleaning barns and pens;

· assist with animal husbandry duties in conjunction with other farm staff;

· assist in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure, including field/pasture maintenance (check fences/gates, sprinkler set-up/rotation, noxious week removal, pasture mowing, etc.) and garden maintenance, as directed;

· assist with hay loading, snow removal and other ‘seasonal’ tasks, as required;

· other general tasks, as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· basic farm knowledge (usually obtained from working on a family farm or similar work situation but employer willing to train);

· equipment operation including utility vehicle,



Avant loader (training provided), riding lawnmower, and other small farm equipment;

· ability to understand and follow information and instruction presented;

· Basic farm knowledge is an asset;

· Ability to understand and follow information and instructions presented;

· Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with others;

· Personal initiative and demonstrated willingness to learn new tasks;

· Able to effectively work independently or as part of a team

· Ability to multi task and work in a rapid paced environment

· Enthusiastic about interacting and helping guests

· Willing to work outdoors regardless of weather

· Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts

· Perform all job related functions in a cordial, friendly manner, committed to exceeding Guests’ expectations

· Ability to prioritize work tasks and problem-solve desirable;

· Familiar with occupational health and safety policies/procedures;

· Valid BC Driver’s License.

Must be willing to work Sundays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
