Role Overview The Field Applications Specialist role is a field-based position travelling to customer hospitals/labs throughout Central/Western Canada. This role is responsible for ensuring total customer satisfaction within the company's install base. This position is to provide solution-oriented consultative and scientific training, technical support, and troubleshooting at customer sites and effectively works with internal and external customers to achieve efficient implementation and go live of new instrumentation.
As a primary point of contact, the FAS builds strong customer relationships by developing a detailed understanding of each customer’s needs. The FAS also contributes directly to sales and marketing objectives by providing field-based customer and competitive intelligence, supporting commercial activities, designing or leading studies and other initiatives that demonstrate product value and drive adoption.
The ideal candidate brings experience in both clinical laboratory and IVD environments, promotes teamwork and cooperation, and proactively removes barriers to productivity and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for total customer satisfaction by developing, cultivating, and maintaining strong professional relationships with all customers.
- Coordinate and provide technical training, consultation, education, troubleshooting, validations/verifications, and ongoing support of the company's product lines within customer base.
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries, engaging Sales, Applications, Field Service, IT, Management, and local or global support teams as needed.
- Achieve and maintain a high level of competency in technical knowledge of the company's products and services. Strive to achieve similar competency regarding competitive systems.
- Support commercial growth by identifying opportunities within current and prospective accounts, generating leads, and providing product demonstrations, scientific discussions,
and event support aligned with the company's marketing roadmap.
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and convention exhibit activities.
- Record all FAS work-related activities into CRM by following all requirements pertaining to case and workorder workflows while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Manage territory administration, including scheduling, expenses, budgets, company assets, and required reporting expenses within company guidelines and policies.
- Achieve the yearly KPIs as defined by Management.
- Travel: Domestic 65%, International 5%, and on short notice.
- Other duties as requested.
Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Competencies To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Diploma or degree in Medical Technology/ Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three years experience in a laboratory setting.
- Minimum of 3 years of Applications experience.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle objects and tools; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move light to moderate weight. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment The noise level and temperature in the work environment is usually moderate.
